PIONEER PRESS 175TH ANNIVERSARY BEER

Oak Aged American Lager

American Lager was born right around the same time the Pioneer Press was 175 years ago. Corn and rice were pretty popular ingredients to brew with back then as barley was not as well established in the U.S. as it is now. Oak was still a pretty popular vessel back then for again as well So we brewed up an American Adjunct Lager that was aged on American Oak. Using an older method of mashing called the “American Double Mash” we first cooked the grits and rice on their own and then added them to the main mash. The majority of oak casks were lined with a product called “pitch” so you wouldn't have gotten much oak character. We thought aging on some oak would be a nice homage to the wood vessel. Honey, grainy rice, and floral aromas. Flavors of oak, cereal, vanilla, and honey. Unfiltered for a little extra depth of character from the yeast. Light/medium bodied that finishes dry. Pours a light straw with a slight haze and a white head

MYSTERIOUS HAZE

Hazy Pale Ale

This Hazy Pale Ale was brewed with 2 new experimental hop varieties. 2B Experimental hops from the West Coast Hop Breeding Company and HRC-003 from the USDA’s hop breeding elite line of experimental hops. Recommended to us by our good friend Eric Sannerud of Sannerud Hop Consulting, former Co-Founder and Farmer of Mighty Axe Hops. Aroma’s of mango, white grape, pear, and pine. Flavors of stone fruit, mango, pear, and pine resin. Light bodied with a clean, smooth finish. Pours a hazy straw with a white head. 

ABV: 5.1 - IBU: 25 - SRM: 4.4

Passionfruit Sour Ale

HAZE OASIS

Hazy IPA

Introducing our newest year round Hazy IPA. Brewed with 2 publicly available US hop varieties Vista and Cashmere. Hop flavors and aromas of stone fruit, lime, melon, papaya, and an herbal note. Medium bodied with a low bitterness and a soft finish thanks to the flaked oats. Pours a hazy straw color with a fluffy white head.

HEFEWEIZEN

Bavarian Wheat Beer

'Hefe “with yeast” Weizen “wheat” Originated in the southern part of Germany and brewed with at least 50% wheat malt. Generally served “mit hefe” or with yeast to get the full character of this specific yeast strain. Aroma’s of banana, bready wheat, light clove, and bubblegum. Flavor’s of banana, bready/sweet pilsner malt, light clove, and a subtle tartness. Medium bodied, low bitterness with a sweet finish and effervescent sparkle. Pours a hazy yellow with a rocky white head.'

MYTHIC MONGREL

Irish Cream Ale


Inspired by the Irish cryptid Dobhar-chú, a mythical crossbreed of hound and otter, this cream ale miraculously balances sweet caramel and toasted biscuit malt with a floral hop finish.

CERVEZA CLARA

Mexican Lager

There’s a lot of interpretations of Mexican style lager. One key element should be drinkability. A session lager of sorts. Generally brewed with corn. Flaked corn is more popular but we chose to use corn grits which need to be cooked separately before being added to the mash. While cooking grits is much more labor intensive, we feel it gives a little bit more of that corn flavor. Flavors and aromas of corn, cereal, bread crust, and floral hops. Light bodied with a crisp/dry finish. Pours a brilliantly clear pale straw with a light white head

Scottish Wee Heavy

To enhance the rich, malty character known for this style we took our first runnings and boiled them for some extra malt caramelization. Fermented cold for a clean, intense malt forward beer. Aroma’s of strong sweet malt, carmel, fig, subtle roast with very low earthy hop character. Flavors of strong and sweet rich caramel malt along with fig, raisin, and a touch of roast. Very low hop bitterness. Full/Medium bodied. Pours a brilliant dark copper with a beige head.

ABV: 6.9 - IBU: 25 - SRM:26.3

GOSE

Tart German Wheat

A sour German Wheat beer brewed with Coriander and Sea Salt. Kettle soured for a clean subtle tartness. Slightly spicy and lemony from the coriander with a clean mineral finish from the sea salt. Aroma of lemon and sunny days on the ocean beach. Fermented with our house Hefeweizen yeast for some depth and character.

FLAVORS OF HONEY/BREADY MALT A LONG WITH FLORAL HOPS. MEDIUM BITTERNESS. LIGHT BODIED, WITH A CRISP, DRY FINISH. POURS A CLEAR PALE GOLD WITH A LINGERING WHITE HEAD.

6-Row barley and corn gives our Cream Ale flavors of fresh cereal grain and lightly sweet corn. Aroma’s of hay, fresh cereal grain, corn and a subtle herbal hop note. Light/Medium bodied that finishes dry, and crisp from extended cold conditioning. Pours a clear straw yellow with a fluffy white head.
