@ruhbrewer is out at @brickfieldbrewing brewing a collab beer. Later this month we'll host their lovely brewer Aaron to make a beer for our taproom.
The brewers work incredibly hard every day, but when making the Kentucky Common (Dark Cream Ale), they are on a whole nother level. Head brewer @ruhbrewer is stirring the maize in a cereal mash, an extra step in the brewing process making this a more authentic representation of the style.
Cauld Weather, our Scottish Wee Heavy, returns to the taproom Thursday. "To enhance the strong, rich, malty character known for this style we took our first runnings and boiled them for some extra malt caramelization. Fermented cold for a clean, intense malt forward beer. Aroma’s of strong sweet malt, carmel, fig, subtle roast with very low earthy hop character. Flavors of strong and sweet rich caramel malt along with fig, raisin, and a touch of roast. Very low hop bitterness. Full/Medium bodied. Pours a brilliant dark copper with a beige head."

Avoid the lines at the outlet mall this Black Friday and pop over to the taproom, we are releasing a Black Rye IPA called Starless Rye. Generally, a tricky style to brew given most black malts contribute heavy roast and chocolate notes. We use some debittered dark malts to give this American IPA a dark black color with light chocolate notes. Packed with hops including Minnesota Grown Mighty Axe Hops Chinook. Aroma’s of pine, resin, light chocolate, and rye. Flavors of spicy rye, pine, resin, and a subtle roastiness. Light bodied with an assertive bitterness that finished dry. Get your first pint starting noon on Friday!
Happy Thanksgiving! Here are the taproom plans for the rest of the week: Wednesday: Trivia Mafia 7pm Thursday: Closed Friday: OPEN at noon + the release of a new beer, STARLESS RYE, a Black Rye IPA.
Tomorrow a very special beer will be hitting the market. Immortal Toast is a beer made from a recipe designed by Co-Founder Zac Carpenters' father Greg. All of us at the brewery were devastated when we lost Greg Carpenter earlier this year. He sparked a passion for homebrewing, helped create some of our original beers and was always proudly pouring beer at festivals. His generosity and positivity is something we strive to live up to when running the brewery. If you pick up any Immortal Toast raise a glass to Greg and enjoy it with loved ones. * Essentially all of this White Stout infused with Coffee, Chocolate and Vanilla was packaged and sent to the outside market and will not be readily available in the taproom. To make it up to the taproom customers, there is a separate batch aging in rum barrels that sadly isn't quite ready yet....patience.
Meet the adoptable pups, get a photo, buy some Bad Weather Cat Treats. All to support twin cities pet rescue. Here till 3.
There's a brand new beer at the taproom today! Dusk Light is a lighter American Brown Ale, that has flavors of chocolate, roast, brown sugar with floral and earthy hop notes. Cheers!
Immortal Toast, our White Stout brewed with Coffee, Chocolate & Vanilla, is the newest member of our packaged beer family. Brewed from a recipe made by Greg Carpenter, Father of co-founder Zac and one of the original driving forces behind Bad Weather. We lost Greg this year, but with this beer, we can all raise a glass to his memory. Immortal Toast is due to hit the market just after Thanksgiving. Art by @popliturgy
