Happy first day of the @mnstatefair ! We once again partnered with our friends and neighbors at @mancinisalfresco for our 2019 State Fair Beer. After a couple year hiatus Funnel Cloud is back! Inspired by a fair mainstay, the funnel cake, this vanilla infused copper ale has notes of lightly toasted bread, caramel and of course vanilla. See you at the fair!
Are y'all ready for the fair? @mancinisalfresco is one again (after 3 years) exclusively serving Funnel Cloud, our funnel cake ale. See you there!

Our Blonde Ale w/ fresh Lime Zest is out today. We brewed this in collaboration with the Jazz Pigs, St Paul's Rugby Club.
We brewed a beer with the Jazz Pigs, St. Paul's Rugby club, and will be tapping it on Saturday. This is a Blonde Ale brewed with fresh Lime Zest. A perfect beer to refresh you after causing a ruckus on the pitch.
Last week we brewed a beer using the method of a decoction mash. This is a traditional way of brewing is a labor of love and we believe a method that gives us a layered malt character that cannot be achieved any other way. Essentially what we are doing is pulling a portion of the mash ( a mixture of the malt and water) and boiling it while constantly mixing by hand using a giant mash paddle. We then return the boiled malt to the main mash heating it to our desired temperature. This process creates melanoidins, which is a ruby-colored, aromatic compound formed from the reaction between amino acids and sugars. It's a lot more time consuming and takes some good arm strength. We will generally take the time to do a decoction mash for any of our lagers or other traditional European beers. Currently, we are serving the Hefeweizen and Gose which utilized this technique with more on the way...
This beer is an homage to the IPA's that got so many of us hooked into craft beer in the first place, back in the glory days of the West Coast IPA. To the 'Elder' breweries out there that were among the first to 'slam' our face with hops. Thank you. GLORY DAZE is a collaboration with @arbeiterbrewing and is out today!
Relive the style that got you into craft beer in the first place. Some will say it's washed up, past it's prime or already peeked. Before the haze was the Glory Days... of the West Coast IPA. GLORY DAZE taps Wednesday 8/7. GLORY DAZE is a collaboration brew with our friends at the soon to be open @arbeiterbrewing. Inspired by our favorite "classic" West Coast IPA's this beer is clean, very hop forward with a firm bitterness. Hoppy aromas of citrus, pine and resin. Join us and the folks behind Arbeiter at the Bad Weather taproom this Wednesday!
It takes an All-Star arm (and a farmer's tan) to hand mix a decoction mash. Brewing Glen Perkins recipe Perktoberfest today.
Bavarian Hefeweizen, one of our favorite styles to brew and drink returns Thursday! This time it's pouring on the high pressure line for extra hefe goodness. See you tomorrow, tschüss! Hefe “with yeast” Weizen “wheat” Originated in the southern part of Germany and brewed with at least 50% wheat malt. Aroma’s of banana, bready wheat, light clove, and bubblegum. Flavor’s of banana, bready/sweet pilsner malt, light clove, and a subtle tartness. Medium bodied, low bitterness with a sweet finish and effervescent sparkle. Pours a hazy yellow with a rocky white head.
