Oktoberfest + Crocodilians
We are teaming up once again with the Science Museum of Minnesota for a family friendly crocodile themed oktoberfest.
- LIVE GATORS!! Folks from Sustainable Safari will be out giving a demonstration with 3 different sized gators (and one Caimen). Roger, their largest gator (about 6-7’) will do a wrestling / physical therapy style presentation. (2-5pm)
- Mini-museum pop-up that shows off the wild and weird things crocodiles have done over their more than 200 million years on Earth. There will be lots of real fossils on display including ones that guests can touch. (12-5pm)
- Short presentation by Science Museum Paleontologists on "Weird Crocodiles of Ancient Times". Presentation by Dr. Alex Hastings, a paleontologist who has spent his career focused on the amazing crocodiles of the past. From horse-hunters to tiny gators to one he named after Tolkien's Balrog, it'll give you a new appreciation for how cool crocodiles are! (1 & 4pm)
